Greetings to all Centennial Marching Chargers & Parents!Welcome to a new school year! We are excited to announce that the Centennial Marching Chargers will be heading to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida in March of 2010. The Band Booster organization's goal is to make this trip affordable for as many students as possible. To accomplish this, we want to give you and your student as many "fun"draising opportunities as possible to help pay for this trip. You will want to start earning now! There are four major "fun"draisers being scheduled for this year, along with several smaller ones. During a non-trip year, a student earns 25% of the profit sold, which will be applied to the student's trip account. The remaining profits go directly to offset the rising operating costs of the Centennial Marching Chargers and the entire Centennial Band Program. We urge you and your student to participate in all of these "fun"draising efforts. Below are the tentatively scheduled "FUN"draisers for the Walt Disney World Trip. |

2010 Spring Gala The date for the Spring Gala is Saturday, April 10 from 5-10pm at Champaign Faith UMC,1719 S Prospect Ave, Champaign. As in the past, students will be requested to sell tickets for admission to the Gala. A variety of music from local artists (that you and I know well!) will be provided. Refreshments will be available for a small additional fee. Proceeds from the sale of tickets, auction and raffle items, and refreshment sales can be applied to the 2010 Band Trip. Yankee Candle SalesThe Centennial Marching Chargers will be taking orders from Yankee Candles Fall Fundraising Catalog beginning Thursday, October 15 through Monday, December 2. Your band student will be receiving a packet of information & order forms prior to Oct 15. Please follow all directions included in the packet. Orders will be available for pick up Thursday, December 10th at the Winter Concert. All payments are due when orders are turned in. Checks can be made payable to Centennial Band Boosters or to you personally, if you care to make out one large check for your entire order (treasurer’s love when this happens!). Please remember to do the following - 1. fill in your name at the top of each order form. 2. Collect payment at the time of the order. 3. Turn in the white and yellow copies with payment to the band box no later than Monday, Nov 2. If you need extra Yankee Candle order forms, just click on 'order form' below. The PDF is one page. If you use the PDF order form, you MUST make 3 copies of it before you turn it in to the band box. You will keep one copy as the 'pink' copy for delivery. Beef House Rolls "Get Your Buns to Disney" Beef House Rolls sale starts Oct 19. Students will have until Nov 2 to take orders for the rolls. Delivery will be Nov 20. There is HUGE potential to raise funds with this fundraising opportunity. Proceeds from sales will be applied to your students trip account for 2010. |

Poinsettia Sale This sale of beautifully foiled Christmas poinsettias from the same grower as our mums, will begin on November 16. Distribution of the flowers will be at the Winter Concert on Thursday, December 10. These beautiful poinsettias can be used to decorate your own home or office or that of a relative or friend. Again, there is HUGE potential to raise funds with this promotion. Proceeds again can be applied to your student’s trip account for Spring 2010. |

"Mums" the Word Now is the time to buy your mums to plant! Students will have until August 12 to sell 8" potted mums at $10 each. colors include lavender, purple, white, yellow and orange. Our grower grows for Prairie Gardens! Delivery is Aug 21 (the first day of school) from 4-6pm. Color choice is first come, first served! There is HUGE potential to raise funds with this promotion. Proceeds from sales can be applied to your student's trip account for spring 2010.

Once an image is ordered it will be cropped and retouched as needed. We will order all of the packages the day after the deadline so that they will be ready to distribute on the 19th. Please let everyone know that the packages will be delivered at the school. The deadline to order the pictures and have the band receive the 20% donation for the fundraiser is October 7th. After that date people could still order them but they will have to be picked up at the studio. Also, if people plan to come in and pay for their package in person that is fine but all packages have to be paid for by the deadline to receive the 20% donation. If anyone has any difficulties accessing the gallery or does not have access to a computer please contact Pat at the studio (217-351-5151) and she will be happy to help. |

2010 "FUN"draising Events Other fundraising plans in the making include, but are not limited to: Hire a Band Student to Work Day; Eat Out at a Local Dining Establishment Day/Night; Car Wash (with small ensemble playing); Donation Ice Cream Social; Lunch at Outback Steakhouse; Fast, Fast Food Drive By (Nelson's Catering); Candy Bar Sales; Band Attire Sales, & Exam Snack Sales.
