July 4th Parade and Practices

posted Jun 18, 2013, 3:00 PM by Juleigh Miller
Dear Band Boosters,

The 4th of July is quickly approaching and we need to plan so the students are well taken care of.  It is necessary that we have water available during the parade route so no one gets injured/sick while marching so we need donations of disposable water bottles to be dropped off at the high school when your student arrives for practice on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  If a few people donate a case this will assure everyone's safety.

During practices that week the students will need to bring a reusable water bottle with their name on it that can be refilled during their practices from 8am-noon.  In order to refill their bottles we need one volunteer to fill large yellow water coolers with ice and water from the athletic dept around 10am.  It will involve driving the coolers to the south side of the building, filling them and then driving them back to the practice field so there will be some heavy lifting.  We only need a volunteer for July 3rd at this time.

Lastly we will need several parents to help the day of the parade.  We need 4 parents to chaperone on the buses from the high school to the parade and back as we are required to take buses this year.  We also need 6-8 parents to walk the parade route and "water" the students while they march.

Please email me if you can help in any of these areas.
