Competition Season is Here

The competition season is here starting with the Mt. Zion Marching Music Games on September 25th.  This competition is followed by the Sage City Invitational in Monticello on Oct 2, and the Panther Marching Band Festival on Oct 9th.

Any time the Marching Chargers perform at a competition, the students are judged on marching, music, and “General Effect”. The general effect score is one that can be influenced by excitement from the crowd. The more the crowd cheers for key parts of the music, the higher our score. Please plan to attend and make as much noise as you can to cheer for your students. If you need a ride, we may be able to fit you on a bus or help with car-pooling.

Times to cheer wildly:
  • Transition points from one song to the next within each of our three arrangements
  • After every soloist, including the drumline feature
  • Between arrangements

We can hear your cheers from the field. It is very inspiring to every student to hear that they are having an impact on the audience. Please plan to attend and make plenty of noise for your Marching Chargers at the upcoming performances.
