Centennial Marching Band Camp

Welcome to the website home for the Charger Bands from Centennial High School in Champaign, IL.  Use the links on the sidebar on the left hand side to navigate through the various areas of the site.  Announcements and information will be added to the site regularly.  Be sure to click on announcement titles for more information.  RSS feeds are available on most pages.    

Below is the list of dates, times, and events for the upcoming two weeks:

Monday, July 17th

8am:  Drum Majors report.
9am:  Section Leaders, Drum Majors, and Color Guard Captains meet.
10am:  Full Band in Cafeteria. Enter through north parking lot doors.
12-1pm: Lunch with sections. Bring lunch or bring lunch money.
3pm: Rehearsal ends.

Tuesday, July 18th

Same Times and locations.
Optional Movie: Spider Man at AMC Theater on North Prospect. Meet there by 4pm. No bus provided. $5 tickets. Possible discount on popcorn and soda TBA.

Wednesday, July 19th
Same times and locations. No special event after rehearsal ends at 3pm.

Thursday, July 20th
Same times and locations.
Optional: Meet at Sholem Pool at 4pm. Entry fee is $4 starting at 4pm. If you have a season pass, bring it. The directors will be there at the ticket booth to confirm you are a resident if you forget your ID. No official end time. Arrange your pick up times and rides with your families.

Friday, July 21st

Same times and locations. No special event after practice ends at 3pm.

Monday, July 24th
8am:  Everyone meets in the cafeteria. 11:30am: Lunch on you own or in sections each day this week.
12:00pm: Uniform fittings-Flutes (12:00pm), Percussion/Pit (12:45pm), and Sousaphones (12:45pm).  See complete details in announcements.
1:00pm:  Rehearsal resumes
5:00pm:  Rehearsal ends
5:05pm:  Parent Meeting in band room. Topics: Details, Forms, Fundraising, Disney, Meet and Greet

Tuesday, July 25th

Same 8am to 5pm schedule with no special events after rehearsals. Drink lots of water!
12:00pm: Uniform fittings-Saxophones (12:00pm) and Brass (12:45pm).  See complete details in announcements.

Wednesday, July 26th
Same 8am to 5pm schedule with no special events after rehearsals. Drink lots of water!
12:00pm Uniform fittings: Clarinets (12:00pm), Low Brass (12:45pm), and Color Guard (12:45pm).  See complete details in announcements.

Thursday, July 27th
Same 8am to 5pm schedule with no special events after rehearsals. Drink lots of water!

Friday, July 28th
Same schedule with an early end time of 3pm to provide time to change and get ready for the Preview Performance at 5pm.
5pm Marching Chargers Preview Performance and Family Picnic

Tips: Bring money for lunch or bring a sack lunch each day. Wear light color clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, athletic shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle with you name on it. Bring a lyre and a flip folder from The Music Shop. If you don't have one yet, don't worry, we may have hand-me-downs to give you. You will not need a lyre and flip folder until the 24th. We recommend flute lyres for sousas and baritones, bell lyres for bell front brass, and all others should know the name brand of your instrument to find one that fits.
